BRILLION, WI (WBAY) -- A surprise landing brought a little intrigue to a small city in eastern Wisconsin.
Police in Brillion were called Monday morning when someone found a weather balloon hanging in a tree, according to WBAY-TV.
The officer who showed up knew immediately what it was.
"Knowing the Weather Service, knowing it was the balloon, it's still pretty cool that this is where it decided to land this morning," Brillion police officer Ben Bastian told WBAY.
Police plan to return the balloon to the National Weather Service office in Green Bay.
The Weather Service says it launches balloons like this twice a day. They measure temperature, humidity and wind speed, among other things.
