System will finally pull out Friday evening with nearly 4 inches for most by the end of this storm.

Messy roads...

A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Wabasha,
Winona, Fillmore [MN], Buffalo and Trempealeau [WI] counties. The advisory lasts through noon due to the possible hazardous road conditions early today. Allow extra time to travel and be very cautious as icy spots can go unnoticed especially with a layer of snowfall.

Transition to snowfall…

The freezing rain will diminish by the late morning and transition over to snowfall. Then most of the snow accumulation will occur into Thursday morning before a wintry mix could lessen snow accumulations. The Stormtracker 19 team has estimated 1 to 3 inches of snowfall possible with localized spots of 4 inches, especially to the north of I-90.

Wintry mix/rain...

Into Thursday and Friday, high temperatures could climb into the mid-30s.
This could cause snowfall to melt near the surface and bring a wintry mix or rainfall from time to time. Road conditions will become slippery during these events, so make sure to slow down.

Warmer temperatures…

The above-average temperatures will continue into the weekend. With more good news the weather pattern will remain dry under cloudy skies. Could see slight melting from warmer temperatures but more sunshine would be needed to have significant snowmelt.
