LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Badgerland Girl Scouts prepared to sell cookies and set their goals with the help of on experienced cadet, who has her eyes set on New York City.

"I want everybody to strive in the cookie-selling," Eleven-year-old Cadet Girl Scout Adey said. "It feels really nice to see the different ranges between the goals. Some people want to get really high goals and some people that are new try with the lower goals and then work their way up."

She worked the "Goal Setting" table and helped other scouts prepare to achieve their 2020 sales goals.

Adey hopes to sell 3,400 boxes of cookies and earn a trip to New York City.

"Some of them are a little shy to work their first cookie booth or to talk to those customers for the first time," Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland Leadership Development Specialist Tabitha Bone said. " Maybe some of them don't know how to count change back so these are things people are going to learn and get excited about."

The scouts start selling cookies on February 15 through March 22. Cookies cost $4 per box and 75% of the money goes to the group while 25% goes to the bakeries making the cookies.
