Eau Claire (WQOW) - A man spending time behind bars for exchanging gunshots with police in Jackson County following a high-speed chase was sentenced in Eau Claire County for stealing a car and starting that chase.

In May 2019, Quentin Labansky, 21, from Reedsburg led deputies in Eau Claire County on a chase before heading to Black River Falls.

There, Labansky crashed a stolen vehicle and exchanged gunfire with police.

Friday, Labansky pleaded no contest to five charges including taking a vehicle without consent and recklessly endangering safety.

According to the Eau Claire County Clerk of Court, Labansky was sentenced to five years in prison followed by eight years of probation.
