LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) --- During a motion hearing on Friday, members of the La Crosse County public defenders office announced that they still have not found an attorney for 27-year-old Shavonte Thompson.
The public defender's office said in court that they have an attorney interested in taking the case, but they have not received confirmation.
Thompson is accused of shooting 18-year-old Javier Hall back on November 2 in La Crosse. The La Crosse Police Department had already been searching for Thompson for another shooting back in March. He was charged with second degree recklessly endangering safety and possession of firearm by a felon.
Thompson remains under extended supervision in Dodge Correctional Institution in Waupun.
Judge Ramona Gonzalez put a call on the calendar for March 27 at 10:45 a.m. to receive an update on the search for an attorney and to schedule a preliminary hearing.
