LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Mt. La Crosse staff, skiers and snowboarders celebrate 60 years of business.
General Manager Darcie Breidel sais the weather is not always supportive of the local ski and snowboard business, from polar vortex temperatures changing into thunderstorms in the span of one week, they have endured a fair share of challenges.
Through each challenge, the community has continued to show support.
"It's really something to say that after 60 years we're still here, and we're still bringing out new customers," Breiel said. "A lot of it is hill ownership, hill management, and employees but it's really the community and we have a lot of really great community support that we're grateful for."
To celebrate 60 years of business, Mt. La Crosse offered discount rates for their "CW Family Night Special" on Saturday. Staff also grilled free hot dogs for members and offered discount hot dogs for nonmembers.
