LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) held one of their "Boots to Business Reboot" course at Western Technical College.

The course is free for veterans and their spouses. The one-day in-person course provides an overview of entrepreneurship and business advice.

Lisa Taylor, Director for VBOC, said this course is an excellent way for veterans to get a head-start on their business venture. Taylor said a vast majority of veterans are transitioning back to their hometown or other parts of the U.S., and many veterans don't have a built-up network of business partners or and the idea of the demographic.

"It has been shown time and time again that veterans make successful entrepreneurs based on their skill set and their training," said Taylor.

The course taught veterans how to write a business plan, how to identify a target market, how to find local financial programs and to find small business development centers.

You can read up on and visit the U.S. Small Business Administration website and learn more about what VBOC has to offer for veterans and their spouses.
