LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - Despite the continued spread of COVID-19, drivers will still hit the road this holiday.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reminds the public that they will be on high alert. They caution drivers to watch out for vehicles changing lanes quickly and to be aware of construction zones.

Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper Rolly Wagas said buckling up is imperative no matter how far you plan to travel.

"As always with the state patrol, our number one priority is public safety," Wagas said. "Do not forget to watch your speed, watch out for distractions, and always stay alert."

Here are some driver safety tips for motorists and truck drivers from the AAA Exchange.
