Eau Claire (WQOW) - A local distillery is giving back to the community in a unique way by using the proceeds of their newest wine to help families facing infertility.
Infinity Winery and Distillery is using 100% of the money earned from their new 'Rainbow Rosé ' to create an organization run by distillery owners Matthew and Kayla Rick.
The organization will help families trying to overcome infertility by assisting them financially; for example helping them pay for medical assistance.
The wine is named in honor of their daughter Kenzlee, who is the Ricks' own 'rainbow baby,' which is a child born after a miscarriage or infant loss.
The Ricks say they wanted to help others going through infertility because they understand how hard the journey can be.
"Going through something like that, I feel like you learn a lot and you learn about the importance of having people to rely on and support, and so if we can support financially, that's just an area that we can help our community in that way," the Ricks said.
The Rainbow Rosé is being sold at the distillery and online.
The Ricks hope to raise $10,000 over the next year to get the organization started.
