Justice Ginsberg hospitalized for possible infection

(WXOW) - The US Supreme Court announced Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized early Tuesday morning with a possible infection.

According to a statement released by the Supreme Court, Ginsberg was admitted to The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She was evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washinton D.C. on Monday night after experiencing fever and chills.

"She underwent an endoscopic procedure at Johns Hopkins this afternoon to clean out a bile duct stent that was placed last August," the statement read. "The Justice is resting comfortably and will stay in the hospital for a few days to receive intravenous antibiotic treatment."

Ginsberg has experienced several health issues during her tenure on the Supreme Court. She was treated for pancreatic cancer in 2019.
