American Idol Wisconsin auditions going virtual starting Aug. 12


LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - A Wisconsin talent could be the next “American Idol.”

"Idol Across America" begins August 12 which marks the first time all 50 states plus Washington, D.C. host remote auditions.

The kickoff of Idol, now in its fourth season on ABC and WXOW, gives hopefuls the chance to showcase their talents from all across America. Potential contestants have the chance to audition face-to-face with an "American Idol" producer and receive real-time feedback during a virtual audition date.

The show uses custom-built Zoom technology to host the auditions in their first-ever live virtual nationwide search for the next superstar, according to the show's producers.
