LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - The City of La Crosse is handing out free masks to the community on August 11.

The masks are washable and reusable.

La Crosse Police Public Information Officer Captain Jason Melby said the drive-through event happens at the Myrick Park main shelter starting at 8 a.m. The giveaway lasts until 4 p.m.

He says vehicles should enter the park and follow the signs to the shelter.

They'll hand out one mask per person in a household up to a maximum of five masks per household.
