Minnesota reports 741 new COVID-19 cases, 13 deaths

MINNEAPOLIS (WXOW) — Minnesota health officials are reporting 741 positive COVID-19 tests and 13 additional deaths.

The newly reported positive cases on Sunday bring the statewide to 84,311. Health officials said 9,146 health care workers have tested positive for the virus since the pandemic began.

Winona County had eight new cases while Houston and Fillmore counties each had one new case on Sunday.

To date, Winona County has had 677 cases and 17 deaths due to the virus. Houston County has had 93 with no deaths. Fillmore County totals as of Sunday were 92 with no deaths.

More than 77,400 people were marked as no longer needing isolation. Minnesota’s death toll from the coronavirus was 1,919 on Sunday. Officials report that 1,398 of deaths have been among residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.

Nine of the deaths reported on Sunday were in long-term care or assisted living facilities.

A total of 6,931 people have required hospitalization. Of those, 241 remain in those facilities, with 136 in intensive care.
