LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) - UW-La Crosse is once again being recognized as one of the top universities in the nation.
For the 20th year in a row, the U.S. News & World Report’s annual America’s Best Colleges listing ranks UW-La Crosse as the top comprehensive campus in UW-System. UW-La Crosse also earned a top 10 spot in the best public schools in the Midwest category.
UW-La Crosse chancellor Joe Gow said that while there are so many things currently going on at the university, the school's high rankings provide a glimmer of hope.
"It's a reminder that we have a great university here. That's why it's so important that we do all we can during this COVID crisis to keep things moving forward because we don't want to lose that kind of prestige and appeal to students. We'll work very hard to keep it," said Gow.
U.S. News also named UW-La Crpsse to the list of “Top Performers on Social Mobility,” a category identifying how schools assisted students with Pell Grants through college to graduation.
