CALEDONIA MN. (WXOW) - The Minnesota State High School League reversed its decision on the fall sports season.

For Football, that means the season will begin September 28th with the first games being on October 9th.

It will be a six game regular season and plans for a postseason is TBA.

Carl Fruechte. the head coach for Caledonia football, says that this decision makes a big impact on these athletes.

"We have a number of guys that schools are looking at and are very serious about recruiting, including some Big Ten schools. These six games are very important. Not only for those guys but for the seniors that, this is it. Anybody that plays high school football still remembers it 30, 40 years down the road, so we want to make sure we give them the best opportunities to have a great time, enjoy the sport, and enjoy the brotherhood with their teammates," said Fruechte.

Fruechte added that athletic directors have quite a handful as scheduling opponents is in the works.
