Fire destroys home near Holmen Sunday morning

TOWN OF HOLLAND, Wis. (WXOW) - The Holmen Fire Department along with 16 other agencies responded to a call for a dryer fire early Sunday morning.

It happened just after midnight at the home located at N7007 Sunrise Lane in the Town of Holland.

Upon arrival, the upper part of the home and garage were fully engulfed in flames. A family of four was able to make it out okay. Their cat, Onyx, was unaccounted for during the fire. The family was alerted of the fire due to working smoke detectors.

Forty-six personnel responded to the scene. Holmen Fire cleared the scene shortly after 5:00 a.m.

The Holmen Area FD is working with the property owner and their insurance company to complete the fire investigation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
