Grant County fire victims identified

VILLAGE OF BLUE RIVER (WKOW) — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of three people who died in a house fire Saturday.

Andrew Brown, 33, Fredrick Hurley, 12, and Barbara Hurley, 14, all of Blue River, died in the fire over the weekend, according to the sheriff’s office. One child remains in critical condition and two adults were treated and released from the hospital, 37-year-old Jenny Jo Moe and 38-year-old Gilbert Moe.

The sheriff’s office released Barbara’s name in a separate update from the other two as they got word she died late Monday morning. The girl was being treated at a Milwaukee hospital.

Jenny Jo Moe’s sister, Anna Dalberg, tells 27 News Moe lived in that home with her husband and five children. Her 15-year-old son was able to escape through a window. He’s being treated at UW-Madison.

Dalberg says Brown was a family friend staying at the home.

The family is planning a candlelight vigil Friday at 6 p.m.

Fire Marshals from the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation are trying to figure out how the fire started.
