ONALASKA, Wis. (WXOW) - Every now and again, most everyone needs help.
Sometimes, it's hard to accept but welcome at the same time.
In this case, the person receiving assistance is usually the one providing it.
But Ben Martens could not do this project alone.
Fortunately he has lifelong friends who are there - whenever they're needed.
Ben desperately needed a bathroom renovation.
Two friends, Beth Davidson and Kari Freitag, stepped forward to help raise the money and coordinate the effort.
A number of local businesses contributed to the renovation and all donated a portion of their time, products and services. They include Maxwell White Plumbing, Gerhard's Kitchen and Bath, Flippin Betty's Painting, Carpets to Go, A & J's Construction and Early Drywall.
The remainder of the money raised for Ben will go into a trust for future maintenance needs. Here is the link to Ben's Go Fund Me page: Fundraiser by Beth Davidson : Help Ben Martens Stay Independent in His Home (gofundme.com).
