MADISON, Wis. (WXOW) - Information from the state's Department of Health Services the number of people fully vaccinated against COVID-19 stands at more than 2.4 million.
As of Wednesday afternoon's update, the data showed that 2,404,085 people, or 41.3 percent of the state's population, have completed the vaccination process.
The numbers said that 2,746,912 people or 47.2 percent of residents in the state have received at least one dose of the vaccine according to DHS.
In Western Wisconsin to date, 128,825 people have received at least one dose of the vaccine. It equates to 46.9 percent of the total number of people in Western Wisconsin. 115,893, or 42.2 percent, have completed the vaccine series.
The DHS figures show that 63,178 people or 53.5 percent of residents of La Crosse County have had at least one dose of the vaccine. 56,342 people in La Crosse County or 47.7 percent completed the vaccine series according to the state.
In other counties, these are the percentages for the population completing the series of COVID vaccinations: Monroe: 32.5 percent, Vernon: 38.9 percent, Trempealeau: 45.1 percent, and Jackson: 33.7 percent.

DHS said there were five new deaths in the state from COVID-19 in its Wedneday update. It raises the death toll from the virus in the state to 7,003.

46 people were hospitalized in the past day as well.
With another 330 cases, it raises the total number of cases to 609,289 since the beginning of the pandemic. Another 3,264 tests came back negative.
Of all positive cases reported, 596,339 or 97.9 percent, are considered recovered.
