Music teacher to use Tools for Schools award on new instruments

TOMAH, Wisconsin (WXOW) – An upgrade for some musical instruments are coming at Tomah area schools.

Kathryn Wacker received 300-dollars on Wednesday as part of the Tools for Schools award from WXOW and S-S-E Music. The award will help replace the Tomah, Oakdale, and Camp Douglas schools 30-year old instruments.

“I've been teaching in the Tomah district for 30 years and some of the instruments that I have, have been here since I started.  I've certainly tried to replace and replenish as we've gone along.  It does take quite a bit of money to do that at three schools and Tomah has been very good at helping me with that but we always appreciate the extra help too,” says Wacker.

WXOW and SSE Music help one deserving teacher or class each month.  To apply, click on Tools for Schools.
