“Reality Store” winner of Tools for Schools award

Juniors at Holmen and Onalaska High Schools will get a boost in their financial planning skills thanks to the Tools for Schools Award.

Jennifer Slusser, this month’s winner of $500, said she’s using the money to benefit the “Reality Store” program. The program is a financial simulation where high school students are given careers, families, and “fate”, then have to budget for everyday expenses.

More than 500 high school juniors and 70 volunteers attended this year’s event.

WXOW, SSE Music, and Benengen Auto award a Tools for Schools check each month to a deserving teacher or classroom in the area.
