3rd grade class at Viking Elementary in Holmen receives Tools for Schools Award

Third graders at Viking Elementary School in Holmen will have more books thanks to the Tools for Schools Award.

Katie Curtis is this month’s winner of the $500 award from WXOW, Brenengen Auto, and SSE Music.  Curtis will be using the money to develop her classroom library.  She says having books that are at interesting to students and at the appropriate reading level help nurture life-long readers.

"It produces life-long readers, they enjoy reading and they become readers at home and readers outside of school and then they get to really enjoy what they’re doing," says Curtis.

WXOW, Brenengen Auto, and SSE Music help one teacher or class each month.  To apply, click on Tools for Schools.
