Karen Fowell latest Tools for Schools winner

Music students at La Farge middle and high schools will have additional resources thanks to the Tools for Schools award. Karen Fowell is the latest recipient of the 500 dollar award from WXOW, SSE music, and Brenengen Auto.

Fowell is the music director, and doesn’t have enough variety of music for her students. The Tools for Schools award will help her buy new music for all skill levels, and she hopes to have enough variety for every student to perform a solo at a music festival.

Fowell said, "The students will get a bigger variety of music to select from because it is really important that students have a piece of music that they can connect to, and something that means something to them. If I just give them a piece of music they might not connect to it and then they might not perform it as well, and it isn’t going to mean anything to them. This is just going to provide us with a bigger selection of music, not only for current students, but for students many years down the road will be able to benefit from this music that we’re going to purchase."

WXOW, SSE music, and Brenengen Auto help one deserving teacher or class each month. To apply head to our website, wxow dot com.
