Earlier this year, Nate was chosen to represent the La Crosse area at the national event in the nation’s capitol.

For those who may not know, once homeless and living out of his car, Coleman started the Good Fight Community Center to help at-risk youth ages 10-18 by providing a safe place for them after school while teaching kids the disciplines of boxing to build their confidence and self-respect.

“Recognizing individuals who are making a positive difference in their communities – and encouraging people to follow their lead – has never been more important,” said Hillary Schafer, Jefferson Awards Foundation CEO. “The Jefferson Awards Foundation is proud to continue its long tradition of honoring those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.”
