Hillsboro man killed in construction accident

Vernon County investigators are looking into the death of a rural Hillsboro man in a construction accident Tuesday near Coon Valley. 

The sheriff’s office said the accident happened around 11 a.m. at a well drilling job at a location on Spring Coulee Road in the Town of Coon. Kouba Well Drilling, Inc. of Hillsboro was doing the work when the accident occurred.

Details on what happened weren’t immediately available. 

William Gene Verbsky, 62, died at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.
