LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Hundreds of Girl Scouts took over the Valley View Mall on Saturday to learn valuable life skills that will do more than just help them sell cookies.
As part of CookiePalooza: Mall Madness, area Girl Scouts had the opportunity to learn a variety of different life skills through fun activities. The Scouts were learning things such as how to be safe while selling and how to interact with customers.
Furthermore, the Scouts learned about financial literacy, business ethics, and entrepreneurship.
“We’re trying to give the Girl Scouts more responsibility,” Senior Program Coordinator of the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland Courtney Willegal says. “. . . because this is their business. These girls are the cookie entrepreneurs.”
The Girl Scout cookie-selling season officially begins on February 9.
