HOLMEN, Wis. (WXOW) — People in Holmen hosted a fundraiser at the Holmen American Legion Post 284 for a future community center.

Activities started at 2 p.m. with a magic show, trivia and finally a concert by singer Jenna Rae Legler. The price of admission went towards plans for a new community center that residents hope to build near the high school.

“Now we’re going to build it,” Michael Hartigan said. “So we know the work’s cut out for us, but this is a start to build enthusiasm within the community.”

Hartigan said the new community center would offer a place for kids to hangout after school. Additionally, it would provide a space for senior citizens to exercise and offer services for local veterans.
