LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – The status of La Crosse’s room tax and its future impact on the La Crosse Center operational budget was discussed during the La Crosse Center board meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Regardless of whether or not the room tax changes, the board plans on receiving less money, and budgeting accordingly.

“The three entities that are really going to be impacted, the city of La Crosse, the convention bureau and the La Crosse Center,” La Crosse Center Board Chair Brent Smith said. “We’re all going to take a certain amount of budget reduction because of that money being used for the La Crosse Center expansion.”

Smith says in the case of the La Crosse Center operations budget, they will adjust for just over one hundred thousand dollars.
