LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WXOW) – The Swing Bridge Pub in La Crescent swung open their doors to the public for the first time on Tuesday morning.
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new business was held at 5 p.m. Tuesday. City officials and residents gathered to celebrate the newly opened eatery. The Swing Bridge Pub is part of the new La Crescent Area Event Center that just opened last month.
“It’s great for the community,” Owner of Swing Bridge Pub Bill Schmitz said. “It’s good between the event center, the hotel, the Swing Bridge Pub and it’s just a great little area in town.”
Schmitz said he wanted to name the pub after something well-known in town, but did not want it to be apple related. He decided on naming it after the historic Swing Bridge in La Crescent.
The Swing Bridge Pub is open Tuesdays through Sundays, 11 a.m. until close.
