Construction still proving problematic

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – La Crosse police say construction on La Crosse’s Losey Boulevard and State Road is still causing headaches for drivers and authorities alike. They say they’ve cited multiple people for illegal turns since the construction began.

Losey Boulevard is torn up from State Road to Ward Avenue. Left turns at the Losey Blvd./State Rd. intersection aren’t allowed from either direction, but many drivers are trying it anyway.

“We’re really getting a lot of complaints, we’re having a number of issues in that area with cars that are trying to make [a] left turn,” La Crosse Police Sergeant Tom Walsh said. “The inconvenience is very minimal, the detour is pretty simple, and if you know your way around the community there are ways to get around that construction without being a burden to other drivers that are out there.”
