BANGOR, Wis. (WXOW) – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating a La Crosse County manure spill. They say it’s killed an estimated 1,000 trout in Bostwick Creek.

The spill affects the stretch of the stream from County Highway M to Larson Road. The DNR says a fishery downstream is also potentially affected.

The DNR has not yet said how much manure was spilled into the water, but are still investigating.

DNR law enforcement expects to issue an update in the near future.
