LA CROSSE. (WXOW) – With the growing popularity of online shopping, La Crosse city leaders wanted to have policies in place when it comes to alcohol.
The new ordinance approved by the city council, Thursday night, will make it possible to add alcohol to your online grocery shopping, but with rules in place.
“Show their identification, pay for that at the time of sale, but it tries to anticipate the trend of more and more online shopping,” Mayor Kabat said. “Trying to again, provide some convenience to the folks here, but also provide some control management over that our alcohol ordinance’s are still followed.”
The ordinance sets limits on when people can order alcohol online, which will be between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
People must pick up their order by 6 p.m. the day of purchase.
