Three-vehicle crash leaves man, dog with serious injuries

VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (WXOW) — A three-vehicle crash this weekend left one man and a dog with serious injuries.

The accident happened Friday on State Road 80 just south of County Road Ee in the town of Greenwood. The driver of a van was heading south. Two motorcyclists were heading north.

When the driver of the van went to turn into a private driveway, she collided with the first motorcyclist which was towing a small motorcycle trailer containing a dog. The trailer detached and collided with second motorcycle. That motorcycle slid off. The driver of the second motorcycle suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the van said she did not see the motorcycles coming when she was turning.

The driver of the first motorcycle and the dog were transported to hospitals with serious injuries. The van had five children in it. None were hurt.

The accident remains under investigation.
