Developing: Man recovered from Milwaukee River

The Medical examiner’s office confirms a man has been recovered from the Milwaukee River.

Milwaukee police said a dive response team had been searching for the man in the Milwaukee river, near Erie Street and Jackson Street.

The search was called at about 6:30 Saturday night. This is a developing story.

The victim found found dead in the river.

A father said the victim was on a boat with his daughter and other friends celebrating a birthday.

He fell into the water and never resurfaced, the father said.

His daughter called him frantically and he went to the scene.

“I support my daughter,” the father said. “She was absolutely devastated, devastated. They went to Greenfield High School, so I know he’s a graduate of Greenfield. I’m devastated that the party ended this way.”

The victim’s name has not yet been released.
