LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – Shared religious faith brought hundreds of thousands of students together Wednesday night at events all over the country.

It’s called Fields of Faith, the outreach of the fellowship of Christian athletes.

The gathering was filled with songs, games, and prayer. While these student athletes compete with each other all year long, this provided an opportunity to come together.

“In our conference everyone always plays each other, we’re always on different teams so this is a night where we want to bring Christians together. Mostly athletes, but some not athletes and that’s okay too. Just to bring them all together to be on one team and to unite for god,” Fellowship of Christian Athletes leader Sarah Hitchler said.

More than 240,000 participants gathered at 521 fields in 2018.
