Two Trempealeau Co. men charged with conspiring to commit crimes against another person.

WHITEHALL, Wis. (WXOW) – After their initial appearances in Trempealeau County Court on October 29, two men from Eleva and Strum are faced with long rap sheets.

41-year-old Chad Michael Anderson of Eleva was arrested on October 23 after police found probable cause he was involved in a conspiracy to bring harm against another person.

Anderson is facing eight charges, all conspiracy to commit. Those charges are as follows:

  • 1st Deg. Sexual Assault-Use/Dang.Weapon
  • Kidnapping/Seize or Confine w/o Consent
  • Mayhem
  • Burglary-Armed w/ Dangerous Weapon
  • 1st-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
  • False Imprisonment
  • Stalking – Use Dangerous Weapon
  • Contact after Domestic Abuse Arrest

The charges against Anderson relate to a case we told you about earlier this month.

On October 12, 37-year-old Ryan Gunderson of Strum allegedly attempted to shoot multiple police officers.

Gunderson himself was then shot, seriously wounded, and transported to a Rochester hospital for treatment.

After his initial appearance today, Gunderson is also facing a list of 13 charges. They are as follows:

  • Intentionally Point Firearm at Law Enforcement Officer, Fire Fighter, Emergency Medical Tech, etc.
  • Conspiracy to commit
    • Kidnapping/Carry w/o Consent
    • 1st Deg. Sexual Assault-Use/Dang. Weapon
    • Mayhem
    • Burglary-Armed w/ Dangerous Weapon
    • 1st-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety
    • Stalking – Use Dangerous Weapon
    • False Imprisonment
  • Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor
  • Bail Jumping-Misdemeanor
  • Disorderly Conduct (Domestic Abuse)
  • Resisting/Failing to Stop
  • Contact after Domestic Abuse Arrest

According to the criminal complaint about Chad Anderson, police discovered the two men were conspiring to commit crimes together from audio recordings seized after the October 12 shooting.

Anderson is expected to be back in court on November 7 for a preliminary hearing.

Gundersen is expected to be back in court on December 13 for a preliminary hearing.
