Restaurant owner faces sexual assault charges

EAU CLAIRE (WXOW) – The owner of restaurants in Eau Claire and Onalaska is charged with sexual assault against one of his employees.

The woman said that Filiberto Rivera, 53, gave her a margarita after her shift at the Eau Claire Manny’s Cocina on May 4. She said that she felt “really drunk, really fast” and “that she could feel her vision get blurry and she could not feel her mouth or teeth.”

She told police the assault happened after that.

Rivera, who denies the allegations, is now charged with third degree sexual assault.

At a court hearing Monday, Rivera was released on a $5,000 signature bond.
