The La Crescent Community Impact Grant Event is being help on Thursday, September 20th.
The La Crescent Community Foundation will award its first Community Impact Grant to one of the finalists for the award.
Four area organizations have been selected as finalists to compete for up to $5000 in Community Impact Grant funding. They will present their ideas at the community event on September 20 at 6:30pm, and those attending will have a vote to select the winner.
Those finalists include:
1. La Crescent Community Bike Shoppe – Bike Repair Station
2. The La Crescent Historical Society – Recording the Heritage of La Crescent
3. Great Rivers United Way – Old Hickory Park Born Learning Trail
4. La Crescent Food Shelf — New Improved La Crescent Food Shelf
The La Crescent Community Foundation’s mission is to support charitable, recreational, scientific, literary, cultural or educational purposes within the La Crescent area. In the past, we have funded park improvements, youth programs, scholarships, economic development, event centers and community initiatives supporting recreation and community building. We look forward to continuing the legacy of community support with this worthwhile grant program.
The event will be held at the La Crescent High School’s Fine Art Center from 6:30 to 8pm; all interested La Crescent area community members are welcome and encouraged to be part of the voting process.
The La Crescent Community Foundation is dedicated to helping bring some of those ideas to life through a new grant program. The La Crescent Community Foundation’s Community Impact Grant will award up to $5000 in one-time funding for a qualified group or organization to support new projects or programs that enhance the lives of La Crescent area residents.
