Real-estate reversal? Buying and selling in a slowdown

La Crosse, WI (WXOW) – After a hot summer seller’s market, realtors are looking ahead to a possible slowdown. Local realtor Jillian Hugo has some advice for homeowners to make a move in the next few years.

The key, Hugo said, is to find the time that’s right for you–no matter the market trends. When it makes sense, she suggests talking to an expert to consider what options are available.

Hugo suggests considering projects to make your house more appealing to potential buyers. Proper staging and paint can offer a small face-lift that will likely boost value and not break the bank during a downturn.

Hugo added that while fewer people are looking to move during the winter months, it can be a good time to sell. She said that those who are typically looking this time of year are more serious and motivated leading to solid offers.
