Onalaska, WI (WXOW) – While many are looking ahead to Spring, some winter sports enthusiasts say, “Not so fast!” And they’ve got a pretty good reason for doing so.

The 6th annual Coulee Region Snowmobile Ride for Juvenile Diabetes takes place snow or no snow on Saturday, February 16. While the organizers say they’re hoping for plenty of snow and temperatures to help it stick, they do have a contingency plan. If they can’t ride, they will take a party bus around to their sponsors around the county to show their appreciation.

Under ideal conditions, the ride would set off from 2Brothers PowerSports in Onalaska around 9 am on Feb. 16. Riders expect to return to the dealership around 1 pm that afternoon. Those interested in participating can either stop by 2Brothers or call Gary Hanson at (608) 317-8946 to pick up a pledge form.

Money raised from the event all stays local. Hanson said some of the funds will help support a camp that kids with Type 1 Diabetes can attend and meet with others who live with the disease. This year, the group is also partnering with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to help local families with their medical expenses.
