‘Break from Drake’: Milwaukee radio station bans rapper’s music during Eastern Conference Finals

Drake might be one of the most popular music artists today, but that is not stopping a Milwaukee radio station from playing his music.

In a Twitter video posted on Tuesday, workers at 103.7 Kiss FM announced that until the Eastern Conference Finals battle between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Toronto Raptors is over, they will not play any of the Grammy Award-winning rapper’s songs.

“I have an idea. Drake is from Toronto. Drake’s a big smack talker on the basketball court. I say until the series is over, we take a break from playing Drake,” said Riggs, one of the hosts on the radio station, alongside his co-host Alley Faith and their producer Gibbons.

It has been said that the Canadian rapper brings bad luck to any sporting event that he attends. This ‘curse’ was seen as recently as last month when Drake attended Game 4 of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs to watch his hometown team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, take on the Boston Bruins. The Bruins ended up defeating the Maple Leafs 6-4. The Bruins went on to win the 7-game series against the Maple Leafs 4-3.

It’s unknown if Drake plans to come to any of the games in Milwaukee.
