La Crosse, WI (WXOW) – Kelly Krieg-Sigman joked that world domination will be her next chapter. Although that may be fiction, the fact remains she’s turning over the role of La Crosse Public Library Director to Shanneon Grant.

Shanneon Grant and Kelly Krieg-Sigman

Grant became the director following a special board of trustees meeting on June 25. Having served most recently as director of the Sparta Free Library, Grant is no stranger to La Crosse. She previously worked for 25 years in various roles and departments at the La Crosse Public Library.

Dawn Wacek will serve as interim director. Grant will officially begin her duties on August 19.

An informal changing of the guard will take place on Wednesday, July 3 from 10 am to 3 pm at the Main Street Library. The open house with two types of cake and coffee will give patrons a chance to meet with Grant and Krieg-Sigman. While joking about her future Wednesday morning on News 19 Daybreak, the outgoing director noted that the library’s future remains in good hands.
