La Crosse, WI (WXOW) – A unique local art gallery will feature an exhibit meant to provoke an exploration of our well-being and connection with nature. Starting Friday, Fannin Counseling & Art Therapy is set to host Life Is Art: Works by Connie Minowa.

The subject of Minowa’s paintings range from the abstract to capturing the connection to the natural world. She said they evoke feelings of love, loss, hope, and gratitude.

“Even though I work intentionally, from life, tradition, and innovation, I feel creatively at my best when I focus on a heart/mind to hand communication guided by the unconscious and the energies that be,” said Minowa.

Having been featured on NPR and in The Wall Street Journal, Minowa lives in the La Crosse area and continues to focus on health and sustainability through her nonprofit, the Earthology Institute and Retreat Center. Additionally, she creates art on stage as part of the band Cloud Cult.

The exhibit will be open from Friday, Oct. 11 through November 8 at Fannin Counseling & Art Therapy (129 6th St S, La Crosse). The Gallery is open Friday 5 – 7 pm & Saturdays 10 am – Noon or by request. You can meet Minowa at the exhibit opening on Friday from 5 to 8 pm.
