LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – The Alliance to HEAL is hosting a drive-through and drop-off event for unused and expired medication.
The Alliance to HEAL plans the Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27. Community members can bring their medications to the Health and Human Services building at 300 4th St. North from 9 a.m. to noon. No appointment is necessary for the drop-off.
La Crosse County Health Educator Al Bliss said, “The reason why this is so significant is because it helps remove the chance that these medications could be misused, perhaps even stolen, or just when they have expired and not being effective.”
Bliss reminds people that tossing or flushing away medication is unsafe and it should be safely disposed of.
For those who cannot make it to the county’s event can take their medication to a handful of dedicated sites. See the list below for locations.
