(WXOW) – You might do a double take when you see the numbers. A recent study shows those who don’t eat breakfast face an 87% greater chance of death from cardiovascular-related issues than those who do.
The study found a correlation, not causation, between skipping breakfast and the increased risk. However, researchers call the findings significant and apparent across all socioeconomic and health statuses.
What that means, said Gundersen Health dietitian Cindy Solis, is its even more crucial to start the day with a balanced meal. She suggests trying to incorporate at least three food groups into every breakfast.
