ONALASKA, Wis. – (WXOW) – Great Rivers United Way noted over $1 million in prescription drug savings due to a partnership with Familywize, an organization focused on improving community health and well being.

The United Way has been promoting the free Familywize prescription discount card which to date has benefited some 7,829 residents in the seven county region serviced by Great Rivers.

“Anybody can use the drug discount card,” said Liz Evans, Community Impact Director at Great Rivers United Way. “Sometimes it might be better than an insurance co-pay, sometimes not.  But people can get the best price available just by showing the card to the pharmacist.”

Evans also noted that the card can be used by someone insured or uninsured as well as by people already with Medicaid or Medicare.

More information on getting a free card can be found at www.familywize.org or call 866-810-3784.
