MADISON, Wis. (WXOW) – Tony Evers began to lay out his plans to lead Wisconsin.

Evers held a news conference Wednesday afternoon at a Madison area Boys & Girls Club with Lt. Governor-Elect Mandela Barnes. It was delayed slightly due to current Governor Scott Walker conceding the race.

The Governor-Elect began by thanking supporters and congratulating Democrat winners in Tuesday’s elections.

Evers made a call for bipartisanship during the news conference. He said he’s already talked to the leaders of the Assembly and State Senate about finding solutions to some of the state’s pressing issues such as infrastructure and health care.

A transition team will be announced in coming days.

“There was never any question in my mind that we were going to win this race. We feel confident going forward,” Evers responded on whether it felt good to be finished with the election.
