Applefest to offer new events for kids, teens

La Crescent, MN (WXOW) — Applefest 2018 is just days away from kicking off in La Crescent.

The festival celebrates Minnesota apple growers while also bringing the community together.

Preparations are in full swing. A number of trucks and trailers with concessions and rides for Applefest have arrived at the grounds. Organizers say this year’s festival offers new events that will encourage fun for the entire family.

“Some of the new things that we have going on this year are a kiddie tractor pull going on Saturday at 1 p.m. and also a Teen Dance going on,” said Verissa Jonsgaard, President of Applefest 2018. “We’re going to have some games in there. We’re going to have a DJ in there, so that will be going on right after our coronation on Saturday night.”

The Teen Dance is for those under the age of 21.

For a full schedule of Applefest events, you can find a brochure at any of your local businesses.
