Gundersen physician named to state EMS board

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has recently named Gundersen Health System’s Chris Eberlein, MD, Emergency Medicine, to the state’s Emergency Medical Services board.

The purpose of the EMS Board is ti make recommendations directly to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on emergency medical service concerns and issues.

Dr. Eberlein is the region’s first and only physician to serve on the board.

“I wanted to give our area a voice,” he says. “A lot of decisions made at that level impacts us.”

“Dr. Christopher Eberlein has years of experience helping people in the State of Wisconsin and our neighboring states,” comments Dan Sievert, director of Gubernatorial Appointments in the Office of Governor Scott Walker. “With the opioid epidemic still harming families, it makes it even more important to have people with an abundance of experience serving on our Emergency Medical Services Board. We are confident Dr. Eberlein will support all of our communities through his efforts.”

Dr. Eberlein has been an Emergency Medicine physician at Gundersen for 12 years and is board certified in Emergency Medicine. He also is the medical director for Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance and Tri-State Regional Ambulance.
