BARRON, Wis. (WXOW) – Law enforcement investigators work through hundreds of tips in the search for Jayme Closs in their efforts to find the missing teen.
In a brief Facebook post Thursday afternoon, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said to date, they’ve received 1,740 tips from across the country. He said investigators closed more than 1,400 of them. They’re continuing to work on the others.
The post asked people to continue to call in tips to 1-855-744-3879 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Wednesday, the FBI announced a $25,000 reward for information leading to the location of the 13-year-old girl. She hasn’t been seen since October 15.
The FBI and members of the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Division of Criminal Investigation are part of more than 200 law enforcement officers taking part in the search for Closs as well as the shooting deaths of her parents.
Earlier in the week, the sheriff released details on what he called ‘vehicles of interest’ seen around the Closs home.
